What is BPM in simple terms?

BPM can be compared to a two-story building:

  • The first floor is business management through processes, when it is not the boss who commands who to do what, but everything is determined by the process, the regulations.
  • The second floor is managing the process itself, i.e. its changes. Within the framework of BPM, the process is the most important asset of the organization. Like any asset, it requires attention and care from qualified specialists, preventive maintenance and development.
  • The stairs leading from the first floor to the second are feedback: information about process indicators and their comparison with expectations, norms, standards. New versions of the process descend from the second floor to the first.
